Happy 4th of July!!!

Devils Tower | Crook County, Wyoming

Yes, the structure, known as Devils Tower, is recognizable to anyone who has seen Steven Spielberg’s 1977 film Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I have never looked at a towering mound of mashed potatoes the same since watching the movie, lol.

This path circles the entire monument. Every time I have visited this location I have made it a point to walk around the entire monument. Most times there will be climbers scaling the sides of the monument. The last time I visited I took the time to view the 'Tower Ladder' - it has to be viewed through a telescope. There is an interesting story behind this ladder that dates back to 1893 - google it and if you are ever in the area please take the time to visit this most interesting monument. 

Rapid City, SD

One of my favorite walks is located here along this water way. It is adjacent to my father's land and I have walked this trek since a very young age. My family has wonderful memories that travel along this water way. There is a bridge near this area and IF that bridge could talk it would tell a LOT of family stories. I will leave it right there. I am very grateful my sons could grow up with this beautiful surrounding meeting them every summer they visited. Thank you Dad, for choosing such a beautiful place to call home.

Graduation - in 2013, these balloons made their escape from some celebration in the area. 

Here we are now in 2020 where the entire country has had to re-create what graduation celebrations would look like. I have seen so many creative ideas to honor the seniors. As they say when life gives you lemons make lemonade. For sure the coronavirus is NOT lemons but the context is valid. I believe the most creative way of honoring graduates that I have seen is some town made their local grocery store FROZEN isle the graduation walk for seniors. Over the stores speakers they announced the names of graduates and they WALKED down the frozen isle grinning with pride. 

HATS OFF TO ALL THE 2020 GRADUATES. No other class in history can mirror your story, your year, your adaptability, etc. I know as we look back at this year in the future we will be able to say - that class of 2020 was really challenged and met those challenges with exceptional resilience and tenacity.

Davis Dam - Bullhead City, AZ

A beautiful location for cooler air located at the Davis Dam. Even looking at water will cool you off when you are dealing with EXTREME HEAT.
