Exquisite VW Bus

While EXQUISITE is not a word often used to describe vehicles - I chose this description on purpose. 

When attending a car show in Boulder City, NV - May, 2013, this exquisite VW Bus opened up her best shine for my curious camera lens. I walked around and around this vehicle and there was no end to the details that just begged to be photographed. The owner granted me access to take as many photos as my interest allowed. Which I was very grateful for. 

VW's don't end up in this condition without a deep passion, deep love and deep pockets. This VW started as a rusted frame and a beautiful vision. The owner said this journey has taken over 10 plus years and there is still more he wants to do because projects like these are never complete. 

This post is being published during our new 'social distancing' COVID-19 lifestyle. I mention this because I don't know if car shows like this one from 2013 will ever again be the same. 

The Heart of Photography for me has always landed on this phrase: "Moments show up and beg to be captured." Today I can add to this sentiment that photos beg to be captured so if the world turns upside down you can reflect back on the way things use to be through photography.

Enjoy this VW bus - which was at a car show - which was once upon a time - how you could spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon in a park in anywhere, USA. Maybe we can get back to some semblance of this but we all know unfortunately, it will neve be the same again.
